Be patient with yourself

Be patient with yourself.

Sometimes we want I see quick personal results, and when we don’t, we tend to give up.

I began working out and lifting weights when I was in high school, but I never really stayed consistent with it.

It wasn’t until I started working out with my older brother. He convinced me to get a gym pass and go to the gym with him. I didn’t want to because he’s twice the size of me and I didn’t want to look like a wimp working out next to him.

Like a good older brother, he was patient with me and coached me through my exercises and lifts. He always encouraged me and pushed me past my limits.

Because of his example and encouragement, I have continued to consistently exercise for almost fifteen years. He taught me how to push through my limits, and he helped me mentally understand that I was my only roadblock.

I have also applied his same encouragement in other things throughout my adult life. It’s taught me to be patient and results will come.

There is another brother we all have and His name is Jesus Christ.

He taught us how to not only do physically demanding things, but he also taught us how to become spiritually strengthened.

He doesn’t judge us for how much we know of His Gospel or how long we have been His followers.

Similar to how my brother invited me to stick with him at the gym, Jesus Christ encourages us and coaches us to do hard things, to stick with Him, and He will help us get over spiritual roadblocks. He also helps us increase our spiritual limitations.

We are going to be tried spiritually and tested. It is His guiding hand and example that teaches us we can do hard things.

We will see results as we are patient with ourselves.

Hear Him!
