Take heed to the Prophet over a blue checkmark.

Take heed to the Prophet over a blue checkmark.

This is an important topic to me and applies to my Hear Him Daily account, as well as any other social media accounts. Yes, even the many accounts with the “verified blue checkmark’s.”

They don’t mean much (besides “I’m popular” status), and they certainly don’t give anyone authority over the guidance of our Prophet, Russell M. Nelson.

How do we “Hear Him” when we go into General Conference instruction with social media reminders like “Remember, as you listen to conference and disagree with what the Prophet says, he is just a man and makes mistakes; Not all messages are for you…”

Don’t justify to yourself why you shouldn’t obey the council from the Prophet and Twelve Apostles.

I think some have forgotten the prophetic mantle the Prophet of God has. Yes, he is a man, and he does make mistakes, but he is also the Prophet of God.

Do you have a testimony of our Prophet and that he is a holy man?

If so, lets be reminded of this great prophecy:

“The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; … the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.”

I testify to you that our Prophet, Russell M. Nelson, the Prophet of God on earth, does not have an unhallowed hand. The Lord, Jesus Christ, guides him and Christ is in control of His church—It is The Church of Jesus Christ.

Trust in Him and gain a personal testimony to sustain His chosen leaders. Sure, “sustain” doesn’t mean we have to agree, but it doesn’t give us the okay to disobey. When we sustain our leaders, we choose to support, trust and obey their Heavenly counsel.

Try obedience to the messages delivered from a Prophet of God before heeding to the counsel of a “blue checkmark” on social media.

Hear Him!
