The Holy Ghost Testifies of the Truth

The Holy Ghost testifies of the truth.
.
It’s not us who convinces anyone of the truth. We are the instrument in the hands of the Lord and the Holy Ghost will pierce the hearts and minds of those seeking truth and righteousness.
.
Why is the Holy Ghost so important and why do we need to invite Him to the conversation?
.
“The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead. He is a personage of spirit, without a body of flesh and bones (see D&C 130:22).
.
He is often referred to as the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Lord, or the Comforter. He works in perfect unity with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.” (Preach My Gospel).
.
We must include the Holy Ghost. It would be like praying without opening in the name of the Father or closing in the name of the Son. In our prayers, we need to include the spirit to direct our thoughts, actions, and to be our guide.
.
As we testify of the truthfulness to the Gospel, we invite the teacher to train. It’s not us who convinces; it’s the teacher—the Holy Ghost.
.
If the Holy Ghost is a personage of the Godhead, how can He be more than one place at a time?
.
“As a personage of spirit, the Holy Ghost can be in only one place at a time, but His influence can be everywhere at the same time.” (Gospel Principles).
.
It’s by His influence!
.
How will we remember truth.
.
President Joseph Fielding Smith taught, “Through the Holy Ghost the truth is woven into the very fibre and sinews of the body so that it cannot be forgotten.”
.
How do we know of the spirit?
.
Galations 5:22-23 answers this: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
.
Don’t get worked up if you can’t get someone to agree with you—That’s not the purpose and you are taking away their agency; instead, be patient. Teach the truths and let the Holy Spirit guide.
.
As you do this, you’ll plant seeds and you’ll allow them to hear Him and recognize what they are hearing for potentially the first time ever. They may not recognize what they just felt or heard, but that seed you planted is there and it needs time to grow.
.
Hear Him!
