It’s after the trial of our faith, not before.

I’ve heard this scripture & read this scripture more times than I can count. I’ve probably had & have given lessons regarding this scripture.

So, why did it impact me differently today?
.
The part that hit me the most was “ye receive no witness.”
.
The scripture doesn’t say “A little witness. A medium witness. A significantly large witness.”
.
Nope—Moroni instructs us; we receive NO witness until after the trial of our faith.

As I thought about this, I thought about the Book of Mormon. I thought about my covenants I made. I thought about my testimony. I thought about ALL the things I’ve done that required me to first have faith.

I didn’t know the Book of Mormon was true until I read it. The first time I read it by myself was a trial. It was hard to understand many passages, but I kept reading. At the end of reading it, I received my witness that it was true. A witness that was personalized for ONLY me by a loving Father in Heaven.

Since then, I have read the book, not just once, but over & over & over again. Then my faith was tested, again. I have been chastised, called a fraud, told I’m mislead, & I would be going to hell for being a “Mormon.”

My faith has been tried from every angle, but guess what?
.
I’ve received an additional & even stronger witness that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.
.
Without being tried & battling through those trials, I would have never received the testimony I have today. None of these witnesses came without my faith being tried first.

The scriptures are a guide. They are a map to what you need to do—Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Gift of the Holy Ghost.

We ask you to have Faith & read the Book of Mormon. You’re faith is put to the trial of doing so. Then you will receive witness the Book of Mormon is true.

Once you know the Book of Mormon is true, you exercise your faith again—The scriptures teach us about baptism. Then your faith is put to the trial to follow Jesus Christ & being baptized. You’ll then receive witness from your Heavenly Father that the covenant you made with Him was sacred.
