Did you make covenants with God?

Did you make covenants with God?
.
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are covenant making people.
.
Did you know Jesus Christ is also a covenant maker?
.
He covenanted with God the Father in the pre-mortal world. What covenant? Well, the covenant to be our Savior. He then went through everything He did and was true and faithful to His covenants.
.
I remember a time on my mission as we were visiting an inactive member of the church. When asked to return to the gospel, He told us “Nah, I’m good.”
.
I remember being on exchanges with one of the Assistants to the President. He said the following:
.
“Brother, are you a man of your word?
.
Yes.
.
Do you keep promises and consider yourself and honest person?
.
Yes, of course I keep promises.
.
Brother, then why did you break your promise to the Lord when you covenanted with Him at baptism? You promised to take upon yourself the name of Jesus Christ, keep His commandments, and serve Him to the end.
.
Well, Elders… I have nothing to say, but you’re right.”
.
This brother showed up to church the following Sunday. It was an incredible experience for everyone involved.
.
David O. McKay once said, “Until the nations realize the value of a covenant and promise and conduct themselves accordingly, there will be little trust among them.
.
Instead, there will be suspicion, doubt, and signed agreements, “scraps of paper, ” because they do not value their word.
.
A covenant, a promise, should be as sacred as life.” (CR April 1946, 113.).
.
Brothers and sisters, recommit to your covenants and as you do, you’ll hear Him!
