We need to remember to be humble.
.
There are times when we may feel our faith is stretched thin. There are times when we need help believing. It’s these moments the Lord is needing us to humble ourselves.
.
In Ether 12:27 we learn “And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.”
.
Our unbeliefs can be made strong as we become humble. We can surround ourselves with others who have great faith and powerful testimony. It’s no wonder we look forward to General Conference two times a year. We need strengthening and guidance.
.
There is no better or perfect example of humility than our savior Jesus Christ. He was literally born in a shelter for animals and His bed was a manger. Who came to visit Him first? That’s right, poor shepherds. (See Luke 2:7–20.)
.
We look at another example of humility. We know Jesus fed 5,000 people, and after the people wanted Him to become their king. We learn something unique from Elder Athos M. Amorim of the Seventy about humility—Pay attention.
.
“Such popularity and power would have severely tempted or corrupted most people. But Jesus ignored the intoxicating influence of the praise of the world, departing into a mountain to be alone (see John 6:15).”
.
It’s not the easiest thing to do, especially when we are on a roll with success. We get caught up in doing incredible in our personal lives. This could be personal finances, awards at work, callings in the church, promotions, excelling in our school studies, etc… It’s these times we need to remember to thank the Lord.
.
That’s why it’s important for us to read our scriptures and study the Gospel. We learn how Jesus was able to be humble. We learn how Joseph Smith became humble. We learn about our leaders and how they remain humble during these trying times.
.
As we remain humble, we will hear the Lord more in our daily lives and He will open the door for blessings to pour in.
.
Hear Him and remain humble!
One of my very favorite scriptures. There is so much hope in those words ❤️
