Some struggle with opinion—it’s life; however, respect each other.

Some struggle with opinion—it’s life; however, respect each other.
.
I am one to struggle with listening to the opinions of others.
.
Why? Because I like my opinion and I’m sometimes selfish—It’s okay to call it what it is.
.
I read an article out of the Liahona today, and I struggled reading it. It wasn’t the message I was anticipating to read when I opened the magazine.
.
My career has helped me and humbled me. Over the years, I’ve developed experience, and with that experience, the virtue of patience has filled my soul.
.
I have learned self-control, humility, tolerance, generosity, and mercy. Patience has also guided me to hope, faith, and love.
.
Now, the article wasn’t what I was expecting. It brought back a lot of feelings throughout my career; however, the message itself was nonetheless true.
.
How can that be? How can I struggle with an article, but know the message was true?
.
The spirit!
.
I can’t fight the spirit. Even with my personal opinions, there are things the spirit tells me to listen to and to open my mind.
.
The great thing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it doesn’t matter what our opinions are. He will always provide the right perspective. We just need to be open-minded and willing to listen. Hear Him, right?
.
We all have an opinion. Some of us are too stubborn to listen to the idea of another. Why do we fail to remember we are children of God?
.
God is our Heavenly Father and if we treat each other as brothers and sisters, we should respect each other. I hope to always follow the spirit when it comes to my opinions. I also need to recognize, you, as my brothers and sisters, are trying to follow the spirit when it comes to your opinions, too (at least I hope you do).
.
Everyone in this photo has their own opinion.
.
If we listen to each other and pray for each other, we may see that many of our opinions align with the will of our Heavenly Father. Try to see and understand!
.
“Real understanding will come to you as you realize the interdependence of study and prayer, as you maintain a commitment to serve while learning and earning, and as you trust in and rely on the Lord Jesus Christ.” Elder Gary E. Stevenson.

Hear Him!

This is SO PERFECT right now with such division in our minds and country. I keep learning every day that I think much differently than most people I know when it comes to what is most important to the Savior and what he would hope we would do. Who’s right….who’s wrong? I don’t know, but I deeply know what the Spirit is telling me PERSONALLY. We all have to live with our own roads we choose to travel, and pray the destination is the same!
