Keep the law of God

Keep the law of God.
.
Do you trust your Heavenly Father? It comes down to just that.
.
I trust my own dad here on earth because he has always steered me in the right direction. I didn’t necessarily understand why he had his kids do certain things sometimes, & he never really gave an answer—he just expected us to listen. I respected my dad & still do.
.
Likewise, with our Heavenly Father. He has given direction & He expects us to follow. He doesn’t always give us an immediate answer, but it’s His will, not ours. He answers in His own due time.
.
What happens when we follow a law of God and why should we?
.
“Every law God has given us is of such a nature that by keeping it, we are preserved, perfected & sanctified. If we keep the word of wisdom, our bodies will be kept pure.
.
If we observe the law of tithing we shall learn to be unselfish and honest.
.
If we pray, we shall hold communion with the holy spirit.
.
If we try to do our duty in everything, we shall come day by day nearer to perfection.
.
It is only when we try to obey God’s laws that we have claim upon His mercy. Justice will take into account in the judgment every honest effort to do the will of God.” (Hyrum M. Smith and Janne M. Sjodahl, Doctrine & Covenants Commentary, Deseret Book Co., 1972, p. 546.)
.
There is always a blessing that follows a law we decide to obey. There is also misfortune when we decide not to—It’s your choice.
.
So often, I hear, ”Why do we have to do this, and why do we have to do that?” You don’t have to do anything. You get to choose to do those things. It’s God’s law, & you need to stop questioning it.
.
What’s a little coffee compared to a large soda? I don’t know, but I do know this, I don’t care. God asked me to obey what Him, & that’s what I’ll do. Stop questioning the supreme creator of your body and spirit.
.
If you don’t like it, then don’t do it. You can accept the misfortune that comes along with it. If you trust God and do as He commands & expects, you will reap the rewards and blessings that come from your obedience.
.
Stop challenging the Lord. Why, why, why?
.
Start accepting His will—”I will go; I will do the thing the Lord commands…”
.
Hear Him!
