The Lord will open our eyes if we are willing to see.

The Lord will open our eyes if we are willing to see.
.
Last night I took my wife on a small date. It really wasn’t much, but it lead us to a great conversation and an interesting thought.
.
How open are our eyes? Do we have faith enough in our current circumstances to see that the Lord is giving us an idea of what eternal life could look like?
.
At the end of March, the First Presidency closed the doors to the Temple. Were you ready for that? Were you spiritually prepared for what was going to happen? Was your lamp full?
.
How many times have you said, “I sure miss the temple and wish I could attend.”
.
The thought processed through my mind as I talked to my wife. It went something like this…
.
There are three kingdoms of glory: the celestial kingdom, the terrestrial kingdom, and the telestial kingdom.
.
The glory we inherit will depend on the depth of our conversion, expressed by our obedience to the Lord’s commandments.
.
Our goal is to inherit the highest degree of Glory—the celestial kingdom.
.
Here on earth we have temples and inside those temples exist the celestial, terrestrial, and telestial rooms.
.
Our goal during this life is to be obedient to the Lord’s commandments and to be temple worthy, holding a temple recommend.
.
It’s been painful and challenging for many of us. Not being able to enter the temples of the Lord during this pandemic has opened my eyes.
.
The Lord has personally reminded me of what it may look like in Heaven if I don’t live up to my covenants I made with Him.
.
I don’t want to be left out. I don’t want to inherit a kingdom of glory and wish I had done better to inherit the highest degree of glory.
.
The Lord has personally given me this reminder. I want to go to the temple and hear Him. I also have a stronger and more burning desire to do my best in this life.
.
I don’t like being told I can’t go to the temple and I know I won’t like being told I can’t enter the celestial kingdom. This has been a great reminder and an opportunity to open my eyes.
