It’s okay to be a follower.

It’s okay to be a follower.
.
I listened to a talk today by Jack R. Christians today.—In fact, I listened to it three and a half times during my road trip.
.
In the talk, he mentions being a leader and a follower. He talks about how It’s great to lead, but a great leader is also a great follower.
.
I’ve never thought of it the way he eloquently phrased it. I always wanted to be the leader, and I felt it was a personal weakness to be the follower.
.
However, we repeatedly hear the Savior ask His disciples, ”Come, follow me.” Are we not disciples of Christ? If so, then we are asked to follow Him. As we are great followers of Christ, we become true leaders of His Gospel.
.
I also learned today, and it provides such soothing balm for troubled times in our lives—God doesn’t have to take anything from us. Everything we have, we should desire to give it to him freely.
.
Many of us have struggled with death, job loss, home foreclosure, and many other things. We ask, “Why did you take these things from us, Lord?”
.
When we learn to be faithful followers of Christ, we will understand that everything is His. Each loved one we have; when they die, we give them to the Lord—knowing, He is the Father, and He will make it right. He ALWAYS has a good reason for doing things.
.
Luke 18:22—”…sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.”
.
Again, nothing is ours. Sell it and follow Him! He clearly states what will happen—We shall have treasure in Heaven when we do.
.
Brothers and Sisters, God loves you all. He wants us to know everything is going to be okay. He gave us life; He gave us mom’s and dad’s; He gave us siblings; He gave us friends and neighbors; He gave us His Son!
.
Everything belongs to Him. Through His Son Jesus Christ, we can give Him everything we have and follow Him. He has provided a way to return back to Him.
.
As we are true and faithful to our covenants, we will have ALL the things He has given us once again. During this Christmas season, let’s choose to be faithful followers.
.
Hear Him!
