Never short yourself an opportunity.
.
Opportunities are probably the most significant things I am grateful for. If you aren’t looking at each day, each setback, or each new challenge as a window of opportunity, you’re missing the point of life.
.
I want to share a few paragraphs from a motivational speaker I admire to the highest degree.
.
“How do I deal with setbacks, failures, delays, defeats, or other disasters? I actually have a fairly simple way of dealing with these situations, summed up in one word—“Good.”
.
Didn’t get promoted? Good… More time to get better.
.
Didn’t get funded? Good… We own more of the company.
.
Didn’t get the job you wanted? Good… Go out, gain more experience, and build a better resume.
.
Got injured? Good… Needed a break from training.
.
Unexpected problems? Good… We have to figure out a solutions.
.
When things are going bad: Don’t get all bummed out, don’t get frustrated. No. Just look at the issue and say: “Good.” —Jocko.
.
Now, I want to say the same thing about the Gospel. You transgressed? Good… You get to talk to your Heavenly Father.
.
You sinned? Good… You get to talk to your Heavenly Father.
.
You failed to pay your tithing? Good… You get to talk to your Heavenly Father.
.
These are ALL opportunities to talk to your Heavenly Father, and let Him help you.
.
These are opportunities to become a better person and grow closer to the Lord.
.
You’re not a failure because you messed up. You’re only a failure if you don’t seize the moment and see it as an opportunity to become someone better.
.
Hear Him!
