Agency is what I am grateful for.

Agency is what I am grateful for.
.
The Gospel is full of beautiful things; however, none of it would exist without agency.
.
In the Gospel topics, we learn what the agency is.
.
“Agency is the ability and privilege God gives us to choose and to act for ourselves. Agency is essential in the plan of salvation. Without agency, we would not be able to learn or progress or follow the Savior.
.
With it, we are “free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil” (2 Nephi 2:27).
.
Agency is everything—we can’t give thanks or receive thanks without it.
.
President Nelson gave us a seven-day challenge, and we are given the agency to experiment with the challenge or not. It’s not being forced on anyone.
.
I like to use my agency to follow directions. We may not understand the direction at the time, but I know our prophet wouldn’t give us guidance or a ”prescription” unless he was inspired to do so.
.
With agency, we can choose to do good, or we can choose to do mischievous acts.
.
We can choose when we want to be happy, or we can choose how long we want to be sad.
.
We have the agency to do anything we want—nothing is holding us back.
.
With agency comes consequences. You can still do anything you want, but you’re always going to have a consequence follow.
.
Now, that sounds contradictory—We can do anything we want, but there is a consequence? Let me explain.
.
We have the agency to choose our consequence. We have the agency to follow Jesus Christ and His example, or we can use our agency to follow Satan and his followers.
.
The consequence comes by our action. We have agency to choose our actions and most of the time, we have agency to plan ahead.
.
I give thanks to my Savior today and being willing to be our Redeemer. He accepted our Heavenly Father’s Plan. A plan to allow agency. Through His atonement, we can make mistakes. He has given us a safe way home—through him.
.
Sometimes we will use our agency and make mistakes and sin; however, Christ provided a secure way to be forgiven. He has given us an option to use our agency and repent.
.
Hear Him!
