“We” need thee every hour.

‘We’ need thee every hour.
.
I am grateful for prayer. Sure, there are times I feel like I’m alone during my frequent ”calls home.” It’s these times I need to sit and ponder—what would my Father in Heaven do?
.
When you can ask yourself that question, you allow Him to teach you what He would do. Many times, it’s not the answer you’re expecting or wanting; however, it’s Him telling you what He would do.
.
I want to give you an example from my life.
.
When my sister-in-law was taken home to Heavenly Father, she left her two beautiful girls to remain on earth. There was a decision to make between my wife and I. It was the only decision and best decision—we would adopt the girls.
.
Before we decided anything, there was a small possibility to separate the two. This was not an ideal option in my mind, and we didn’t want to traumatize them more than they already were.
.
My wife and I had a home of our own, and the choice to keep it or sell it and moving in with my inlaws to keep the girls together were our options.
.
I remember praying and asking Him what He would do. The only answer that came to me was He would move in for some time if He were in my shoes.
.
Was this ideal? For that time and those circumstances, it was. It kept the two girls together, and it allowed the oldest to decide to live with us voluntarily. She was able to see well beyond her age that she wanted a mom and a dad. She wanted the same opportunity her little sister was going to have.
.
When we STOP thinking about ourselves and what WE want, when we pray, we will hear Him. When making small, medium, or big decisions, ask Him, ”Lord, what would you do?”
.
Be prepared to get an answer you don’t want to hear. I promise you; you’re going to know it’s the right answer because you won’t want to do it, but you know it’s the right thing to do.
.
It’s at those times, you will hear Him.
