Spiritual and Physical Shape.

Spiritual and Physical Shape.
.
I have experienced both. There have been times when I’ve been in phenomenal physical shape and spiritual shape. There are also times when I’ve been in terrible physical shape and spiritual shape.
.
I recognize the difference when I’m either-or.
.
There are many things about sports that I love. It’s the physical conditioning, self-discipline, and the spirit of team camaraderie.
.
These things have taught me I have to be in good spiritual shape and good physical shape. If I’m not well balanced in both, I’m never going to accomplish my stewardship.
.
I have a family, and I have many responsibilities. The stronger I become physically and spiritually is going to dictate how I manage everything I’ve been called to do.
.
I want to be righteous. I want to be physically conditioned. The two have to go hand in hand for me.
.
I want to be among the righteous followers of Christ.
.
I want to become numbered among the elect who gain the assurance of exaltation.
.
This is my calling and election. It began when I chose to be part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I joined the camaraderie of the Gospel. When I did this, I made a covenant with the Lord to be a Gospel steward in my family.
.
I will do the following: “press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end” (2 Ne. 31:19–20).
.
The scriptures call this process making our calling and election sure (2 Pet. 1:4–11; D&C 131:5–6).
.
I hold the spirit of God in my physical body we call a temple. I want my spirit to have a healthy place to reside—a place of confidence and accountability.
.
As I stay in shape, I remained disciplined. I train my mind and body to allow the spirit to speak clearly. Spiritual and physical shape is what has always enabled me to hear Him!
