Take a look at the stars, and you’ll know God foreordained you!
.
It’s been an excellent week for me, as I hope it has been for each of you. I’ve spend several nights camping under the stars and listening to the sounds of nature.
.
There is one thing I was assured of—God loves His people! We sometimes don’t look hard enough, or we get caught up in the noise of our current circumstances (work, school, and even church assignments), forgetting to recognize and thank Him for everything we have.
.
Why wouldn’t we have a purpose in God’s plan? Look at the stars and ask yourself that question. You’ll realize you do almost instantaneously. We are not alone in the BIG universe—sorry science.
.
Joseph Smith said, “Every man who has a calling to minister to the inhabitants of the world was ordained to that very purpose in the grand council of heaven before this world was.” (Teachings).
.
Elder McConkie taught—”All those who receive the Melchizedek Priesthood in this life were, as Alma teaches, “called and prepared from the foundation of the world according to the foreknowledge of God,” because they were among the noble and great in that premortal sphere. (Alma 13:3.)”
.
Paul taught—faithful members of the Church, those “that love God” and “are called according to his purpose,” are foreordained “to be conformed to the image of his Son,” to be “joint-heirs with Christ,” and to have eternal life in our Father’s kingdom. (Rom. 8:17, 28.)
.
The greatest talents we can have are these—the talent for spirituality—the talent to believe and accept the truth—the talent to desire righteousness.
.
You can know you were foreordained, but it’s going to take effort on your part. Study, pray, and ponder. Accomplish His will by “a listening ear and to give heed to the words that fall from the lips of those who wear the prophetic mantle.” McConkie.
.
I promise as you do these things, you’ll find comfort and peace through your current circumstances. You’ll know God has foreordained you and He needs you to accomplish His will.
.
Hear Him!
