The Soldier Who Stood By

The soldier who stood by.
.
“Never had the Lamanites been known to fight with such exceedingly great strength and courage, no, not even from the beginning.” (Alma 43:43)
.
There were some extremely difficult circumstances during these battles; however, Captain Moroni went on and led the Nephites to victory over the Lamanites.
.
As we look a little further into Alma, we learn of a soldier who saved Captain Moroni. He was on standby when Zarahemnah rushed forward to kill the Captain. (Alma 44:13.)
.
He wasn’t just hanging around but he was alert to his surroundings and ready to act. If he wasn’t prepared, his Captain most likely would have died by the Lamanite sword.
.
What’s interesting about this chapter is it relates to all of us? Are we on standby? Are we prepared to protect the word of the Lord? Is your guard up, and are you ready for battle?
.
What kind of soldier in God’s army are you? Do you pay attention to the warning signs? Do you physically and mentally prepare for the last chapter on earth? Are you preparing the way for the Lord and His second coming?
.
There are many things we can be doing, but are we doing those things? How are you trying to hear the Lord? Are you so wrapped up in the media and trying to do everything you can to find an argument or prove your point about everything?
.
What good is it doing us to argue our point on social media? Is someone making you baked goods for proving your point? Are you receiving any awards for proving your point? Is proving your point, stirring the pot, or joining in on hateful arguments helping you hear the Lord?
.
I’ll tell you what it is doing. It’s taking the spirit away from you. It’s blocking your mind and shutting out the opportunity to hear Him! Contention is of the devil, and you’re making him proud. It is his goal to anger your mind and soul.
.
A soldier in God’s army stays prepared and is invaluable. Don’t be a bystander in the Lord’s army. Be mindful, be watchful, be humble, be kind, and be ready!
.
Hear Him and be prepared!
