Why are we so judgmental?
.
Help me understand this and I am not perfect by any means. I have some repenting on my end to do for my actions.
.
I get it; we are humans. As humans, we are susceptible to sin and error. On the other hand, we are children of God! Take a moment and think about that statement.
.
You and I are children of God.
.
We are children of God.
.
God is our Heavenly Father.
.
We come from Heavenly parents.
.
So, why do we fight each other here on earth? Do we think our Heavenly Father put us in a boxing ring and said, ”Fight each other.”
.
Did He put us here on earth and say, ”Call each other names, kill each other, hate each other.”
.
When will we grow together and begin to love one another? We are children of Heavenly beings, and we need to start acting like such.
.
I listened to a suggested talk from my recent post. @mike_claudia, thank you for this great suggestion. I’m going to share a few quotes that I found valuable. All are from Elder Elden Tanner.
.
“Wouldn’t this old world be better If the folks we meet would say: ‘I know something good about you,’ And then treat us that way?”
.
”It seems common practice for people to talk about their friends and neighbors and to criticize their seeming peculiarities and weaknesses.”
.
”The reason we cannot judge is obvious. We cannot see what is in the heart. We do not know motives, although we impute motives to every action we see. They may be pure while we think they are improper.”
.
”It is not possible to judge another fairly unless you know his desires, his faith, and his goals. Because of a different environment, unequal opportunity, and many other things, people are not in the same position.
.
One may start at the top and the other at the bottom, and they may meet as they are going in opposite directions.”
.
”Have you forgotten who you are, and what your object is? Have you forgotten that you profess to be Saints of the Most High God, clothed upon with the holy priesthood? Have you forgotten that you are aiming to become kings and priests to the Lord, and queens and priestesses to him? (The Gospel Kingdom [1987], pp.229-230;) John Taylor.
