TAKE A MOMENT TO REMEMBER 9/11

Take a moment to remember 9/11
.
We can be people of peace. We can be followers of Jesus Christ. He was the perfect example of peace.
.
There most definitely are going to be times when we must stand up for what is right and the civility of our Nation.
.
We enjoy our freedom and civilization. On 9/11, those things felt infringed upon and we were ready to do what Moroni did. He rallied his people together. They did this in defense of their wives, their children, and the cause of liberty (see Alma 48:10).
.
President Hinckley spoke to us during this tragic event. He said the following.
.
”Occasions of this kind pull us up sharply to a realization that life is fragile, peace is fragile, civilization itself is fragile. The economy is particularly vulnerable.
.
Now, brothers and sisters, we must do our duty, whatever that duty might be. Peace may be denied for a season. Some of our liberties may be curtailed.
.
We may be inconvenienced. We may even be called on to suffer in one way or another. But God our Eternal Father will watch over this nation and all of the civilized world who look to Him.
.
He has declared, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Ps. 33:12). Our safety lies in repentance. Our strength comes of obedience to the commandments of God.”
.
We came together as a Nation then, so why can’t we come together as a Nation today? We can. The Lord will guide us if we let Him.
.
We must stand against evil in these perilous times. Just like we did when our Nation went under attack.
.
President Thomas S. Monson confirmed, “Comfortable times were shattered. We felt the great unsteadiness of life and reached for the great steadiness of our Father in Heaven. And, as ever, we found it. Americans of all faiths came together in a remarkable way.”
.
Our duty is to him Him! ”Be still, and know that I am God” (Ps. 46:10).
