Why are we so quick to forget?
.
There is one answer to this question, and it’s Satan. I think back to September 11, 2001. It was a day we remember, and we will never forget; however, many individuals remember the day and the events but are forgetting or have forgotten the spiritual experiences of that day.
.
September 11 was a day that brought our country together. As tragic as it was, some miracles took place. One of the biggest miracles I can remember is people loving one another. Everyone was helping everyone. There was no divide.
.
Our Nation was able to battle together, and we fought through these events together—we were able to move on and press forward!
.
Now, let’s take a look at the Nephites. They experienced a night without darkness; however, this miraculous event eventually began to fade away, too, just like the day our Nation was brought together through a tragic event.
.
Having said this, not everyone will forget the powers of Heaven that brought our Nation together, and not everyone will listen to the deceitful enticing’s of Satan.
.
In 3 Nephi 1:22, we learn the following, ”It came to pass that from this time forth there began to be lyings sent forth among the people, by Satan, to harden their hearts, to the intent that they might not believe in those signs and wonders which they had seen; but notwithstanding these lyings and deceivings the more part of the people did believe, and were converted unto the Lord.”
.
Brothers and Sisters, look at our Nation now. There is great turmoil amongst many. Why is this? Again, it’s because of Satan. There is also great peace, but where can that be found? It can be found in the scriptures, through unceasing prayer, and in your own home.
.
The only way to forget the miracles that occur in your life is to stop listening to God—when you give up and stop trying to ”Hear Him.”
.
3 Nephi 2:1-3 sends out a great warning of what happens when we take Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation out of the equation.
.
We are fighting each other today, and it pleases one person, Satan. It’s not of God. He has asked us to hear Him. ”A new commandment I give unto you that you love one another.”
