We are only on Earth for a moment.

We are not going to be on Earth forever—forever is what we have to look forward to after this life. How are you spending your time?

I can promise you this; you will spend a lifetime afterward reflecting on the choices, things, actions, and everything else you did during your time on Earth.

Elder Gary E. Stevenson told a story about an Olympic athlete. He spoke about all the preparation the athlete went through for years and years.

When the Olympics came, her event would take about four minutes to perform, and for the rest of her life, she would reflect on those four minutes. Elder Stevenson continued.

”It may seem unfair that her entire Olympic dreams hinged on what she did during just four brief minutes. But she knew it, and that is why she prepared so diligently. She sensed the magnitude, the urgency of her four minutes, and what they would mean for the rest of her life.”

We are no different. Here we are on Earth trying to accomplish what we prepared for and accepted to do during our pre-mortal existence.

Our time on Earth is no different than the short amount of time the young lady had during her Olympic game. So, how are you preparing and how are you doing?

One of my favorite scriptures in the Book of Mormon teaches us this exact thing. In Alma 34:32, we learn, ”For behold, this ​​​life​ is the time for men to ​​​prepare​ to meet God; yea, behold the day of ​​​this​ life is the day for men to perform their ​​​labors​.”

The Apostle Paul backs this sentiment and I think it’s fantastic. He says, ”Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” 1 Corinthians 9:24
.
I, too, urge you to run! I also recommend to myself that I pick up the pace! We are at the finish line, brothers and sisters! You’re in the middle of your four-minute ’Olympic Event.’

Hear Him and WIN! Be proud of what you’ve done at the end of your race. The Lord is at the finish line, and He’s bringing you home!! Go get Him!!
