Come back—You need the blessings of the restored Gospel!

Come back—You need the blessings of the restored Gospel!
.
Whatever it is that has driven you away from the Gospel, I can promise you; God loves you.
.
I get it—Salt is salt and sugar is sugar. They are two separate things; however, they both serve a great purpose.
.
If I put sugar on something that was intended to have salt on it, I’m probably going to be disappointed. I’ll have to scrap my meal and start over.
.
If I put salt on something that’s supposed to have sugar on it, I’m going to get the same outcome. I’ll be disappointed it and I’ll likely have to start over.
.
There are going to be times when you experience similar things in the Gospel. It’s not the Gospel that’s disappointed you. That’s where the line is drawn—The Gospel of Jesus Christ is perfect.
.
It’s the people who gather in the Gospel of Jesus Christ that are far from perfect.
.
One of my favorite talks was given by Elder David A. Bednar ”And Nothing Shall Offend Them.”
.
In his talk, he refers to ’choice.’ it’s stuck with me ever since and it was very clear in my mind. WE CHOOSE TO BE OFFENDED.
.
”To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone or something else.” Bednar
.
If you haven’t felt insulted at Church, then I need to come to your ward. It’s almost inevitable, and it’s up to us how we respond. These things can and most likely will happen. We can respond by being offended or we can react by realizing we are not at Church for anyone but ourselves and the Lord.
.
Yes, that can be hard. It’s hard to attend a place where you may feel don’t feel welcomed. I’ve been in that situation many times in my life; however, when I go to Church, I go to commune with the Lord, and most importantly, I go to partake of the sacrament.
.
The salt may have a bad reaction, but the sugar may be just what you need. There are both kinds inside the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
.
If sin stunk, the chapel would reek!
.
Return for you and no one else. Enjoy the blessing of the Gospel. The biggest blessing being the sacrament. Your promise you made with the Lord at baptism. Do you keep promises?
.
Hear Him!
