Maybe you have this question, and in addition to this question, I ask you—what do you expect from Jesus Christ?
.
If you’re looking for something of a temporal nature, I can assure you; you’re going to be disappointed.
.
This will be easy to remember—persons who belittle the value or importance of the Gospel and are seeking temporal gain “serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly” (Rom. 16:18).
.
Those of you who seek the spiritual nature diligently, in order to provide spiritual blessings to your fellow men, and serve the Lord, will rarely be disappointed.
.
I have been blessed throughout my life. My membership and participation in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have opened many doors.
.
A few examples of what the Lord has done for me.
.
For nearly 13 years, the Lord has brought me safely home to my family after work. As a police officer, I walk out the door every shift, and my family trusts in him to bring me back home.
.
He has given me three of my own beautiful children and two of my sister-in-law’s beautiful children, to adopt, and raise. At the same time, she serves the Lord on the other side of the veil.
.
He has given me eternal life and a guidebook to return to His presence. He atoned for me and my sins.
.
He has provided His mouthpiece. A prophet and apostles. They walk the face of the earth today and speak to us. They teach of Him and guide me. I testify they are living disciples of Christ. Following their guidance has brought me extreme help and hope. In doing so, it has made me a better person.
.
I don’t expect anything of temporal gain. The spiritual gain is sufficient for me. Trust in Him and hear Him!
