ARE YOU SERIOUS ABOUT THE LORD’S WORK?

Are you serious about the Lord’s work?
.
I think about my commitment to Christ and if I’m serious about it. Some days I do better than other days. Some weeks I do better than other weeks. Some months I do better than other months.
.
When I look at some replica photos of Christ, I feel determination. I see someone who wins and doesn’t lose. I also observe focus.
.
One question I ask myself is this—Do I see me?
.
When we look at Christ do we see ourselves? Obviously, we are not Him, but are we becoming like Him?
.
Do you take the time to do a self-evaluation? Have you ever done a self-evaluation? How does your self-evaluation rate? Are you becoming like Christ?
.
A few posts back, I talked about wanting to be myself and that I am not Christ. Which is absolutely right; however, I still want to become like him.
.
What does that look like and how? President Uchtdorf explains it pretty well.
.
”To follow Christ is to become more like Him. It is to learn from His character. The Savior invites us to learn His gospel by living His teachings. Ancient and modern prophets described it with three words: “Keep the commandments”—nothing more, nothing less.”
.
It seems pretty simple because it is that simple. We, as mortal beings, make it complicated. We make everything complicated.
.
I think we are safe to say that if life were easy; it wouldn’t be hard.
.
Accept that it’s going to be difficult. Christ accepted that and was determined to win. He did win! He conquered the world. How do we know this? We know by studying what He told us.
.
”In the world, ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”—John 16:33
.
Measure up to the teaching of Christ, and you will have His help in doing so. You’re not perfect, so accept that.
.
Elder Eyring taught us three words that he learned from his wife, do you know what those were?
.
”Try, try, try!!”
.
He went on to say a wonderful thing about his wife, and he gave us all hope.
.
”I think that she will find, when she sees Him, that our Savior has put His name into her heart and that she has become like Him. He is carrying her through her troubles now, as He will carry you through yours.”
.
Hear Him!!
