DO YOU STRUGGLE TO BE CHRISTLIKE?

Do you struggle to be Christlike?
.
I have a strong love for the Savior, and I enjoy studying the scriptures, the words of our prophets, and 98% of the time I listen to church hymns.
.
I am also stubborn. I yell, argue, and get frustrated with anything and everyone 99% of the time. This very well could be from my career choice in Law Enforcement.
.
On the job, I have to put my best game face on. I have to be professional in all of my conduct and duty-related assignments. Sometimes, I have to pretend to have no emotion, or I have to smile (when inside I’m probably boiling).
.
When I come home, I get to try and decompress. A good majority of trying to decompress means I yell, argue, and get frustrated. I understand that not everyone is like this, but I am. I struggle to be Christlike.
.
I struggle to be Christlike because I am not Christ. That may sound terrible, but it’s true. I am Mike. I am just a man who struggles and is trying my best during my time on earth.
.
Jesus Christ set the perfect example for us, and He has commanded us to become as He is. Every day, I try to have more faith, hope, charity, patience, humility, purity, diligence, and obedience.
.
As I learn of Him and seek to develop His attributes, I know I will become the dad, husband, brother, son, and friend, He and our Heavenly Father, would like me to be.
.
He is my brother, and I look up to Him. It doesn’t mean I am Him—nor do I want to be Him. I want to be Mike. I want to walk by His side and learn from Him.
.
As I struggle to be Christlike, I learn who I am. I find ’the Mike’ my Savior needs me to be. He’s given you and I different personalities, qualities, and ideas. He needs to use us all in different ways.
.
Don’t give up. He will help us become who He needs us to be. Hear Him!
