CELEBRATE THE PIONEERS

Let Us Celebrate Pioneer Day!
.
Today is a day of remembrance! May our thoughts be turned towards the Mormon Pioneers.
.
This day commemorates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847, where the Latter-day Saints settled after being forced from Nauvoo, Illinois, and other locations in the eastern United States.
.
I feel blessed to be where I am today. As ponder on everything I am doing and have done, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the pioneers.
.
They paved the way here in Utah. What would have happened if they never arrived in Utah or never had the courage to listen to the voice of the prophet, which is the voice of the Lord?
.
They did so many things and suffered things I hope never to have to. Why did they do all of this? My thoughts go to the hymn,” He is Risen.” I’m my opinion this was and is the driving force of our Pioneer ancestors and for the continued faith of the Saints today.
.
He is risen! He is risen!
Tell it out with joyful voice.
He has burst his three days’ prison;
Let the whole wide earth rejoice.
Death is conquered; man is free.
Christ has won the victory.
.
I testify to you that our Pioneers loved Jesus Christ, and because they listened, I am where I am today. I wouldn’t be able to do the things I do unless the restored Church was on the earth today. Jesus is the head, He has risen, and we have a duty to perform! We need to let the whole wide world know!
.
Hear Him!
