How imperative is my testimony of Jesus Christ?
I remember as a young kid, we prayed as a family, we went to church as a family, and I had no doubt this ”Jesus Christ” my parents taught me about was extraordinary.
I could teach you about Jesus Christ, but I wouldn’t have room to do it; Instead, I’m going to share a small portion of my testimony with you.
Faith – I have faith in God the Eternal Father and in His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. My faith is rooted deep because I have spent many hours on my knees. I have absorbed Gospel teachings. I have come to know the Lord, and I know he loves me.
Repentance – I wouldn’t be where I am today without my faith, allowing me to understand and accept the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I don’t have ’good days’ without mistakes. Because I make mistakes, I need a Savior. He has taken my errors and sins upon Himself. Without His everlasting Atonement, I wouldn’t be able to make mistakes and return to my Heavenly Father’s presence. He broke the bands of death, and because of His love, He asks me to repent and be free.
Baptism – After being baptized, I have been able to renew my covenant of baptism each Sunday. Each week, I continue to covenant with the Lord. I promise Him that I will ALWAYS remember Him and KEEP His commandments. In return, He has promised me that I WILL HAVE His spirit to be with me. I need Him every week. I need to repent so I can Have His spirit with me, especially as a husband, a dad, and a police officer. I can’t do any of those things each week without Him.
Endure – As I build my faith more every day, I want to strive to keep the commandments. The more I study the Gospel; I want to honor my baptismal covenant. I want to honor my priesthood authority. I want to raise my children the same way I learned of Jesus Christ. I want to honor my temple endowment and marriage covenants.
I know the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. They bring me great joy. I’ve personally prayed and can testify to you that Christ lives. He loves us, and because He does, He has restored His church and priesthood once again on earth.
Hear Him!
