Are you helping to fulfill Isaiah’s promise?

”The earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.” Isa 11:9

Elder Oaks is an Apostle of the Lord who says things the way they need to be told. I always look forward to his direction.

In a conference talk he gave in 1989, he addresses their current time. I was two years old when he addressed his concerns for our current state as a world at whole.

It’s been 31 years since he addressed this issue. I can see how the knowledge of the Lord in the day to day activities is diminishing. Back in the ’80s the people we’re experiencing an explosion of knowledge about the world and its people.

This of how fast that explosion has taken off over the last 31 years.

This knowledge is great; however, like Elder Oaks noted, ” the people of the world are not experiencing a comparable expansion of knowledge about God and his plan for his children.”

How important is this statement now? It’s been 31 years. What our world truly needs is ”not more scholarship and technology but more righteousness and revelation.”

So, the question I ask is, what are you and I doing to help fulfill Isaiah’s promise?

It’s this simple.

God has promised that if we ask him, we will “receive revelation upon revelation, knowledge upon knowledge, that we may know the mysteries and peaceable things—that which bringeth joy, that which bringeth life eternal.” (D&C 42:61.)

What impedes the world from this? There are three things, in my opinion— 1. Our self desires. 2. We fear man more than God. 3. The charm of the Devil.

We have seen so much ’smut’ on social media—What stops us from filling social media with the word of God?

The Book of Mormon teaches that those who diligently seek shall have “the mysteries of God … unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost.” 1 Ne. 10:19

Have a wonderful Monday. Hear Him!
