WE MUST REMAIN RIGHTEOUS

Why must we do our best to be righteous?

Life is a day-to-day operation. We wake up, and we face whatever comes our way. Some of us have a routine, and some of us simply expect something new thrown at us.

Regardless of what your new day brings, there is going to be an enticer, an influencer, a tempest or whatever you may choose to call it.

I like to call it what it is—Satan and his aides. They are present, and they are evil. They will lure you into doing what’s contrary to the Master.

So, why is it essential to remain righteous and steadfast in the work of the Lord?
Elder ElRay L. Christians said the following about Satan and his followers.

”No doubt they may know our inclinations, our carnal tastes, and desires, but they cannot compel a righteous person to do evil if he seeks help from the Lord. Too many try to blame Satan when in reality the fault lies within themselves because they yield to his enticements.
.
He delights in introducing to the world innovations and practices that lead to unhappiness and misery, all the while making it appear that such evil practices are now acceptable.”

It’s more than just “important” to understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, it’s our key to the kingdom of Heaven. If you’ve misplaced the “key,” the Lord will help you find it through His teachings. His scriptures provide the keys and allow you to hear Him.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake. When people are persecuted for for loving righteously, Jesus declares “theirs is the kingdom of Heaven” – Matthew 5:10

I welcome the persecution, as should we all. “Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not” (D&C 6:36).
