As a firsthand witness to the riots and protests—A question came to my mind during my study of the Book of Mormon. It comes from 1 Nephi 3:7
–
“The Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which He commandeth them.”
–
With all the hate, anger, and frustration in our Nation right now, one of the greatest commandments comes from a few different scriptures:
–
John 13:34 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
–
The first and second greatest commanded:
–
Matthew 22:39, “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
–
Going back to Nephi, we are promised: The Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save He shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which He commandeth them.
–
My question: Without Christ physically coming back for the Second Coming, is there a way for us to find love and bring peace to these protests and riots? If so, what is “the way” the Lord has prepared for us (our nation) to accomplish His commandment to Love, thy neighbor as thyself.
–
The Lord promises a way to fulfill that commandment of loving our neighbor as ourselves.

I have my ideas on this, but want to hear from you all. PC: by Robert T. Barrett
